Stepping Stones
So the 4th grade teacher wanted me to help the kids create a play that would integrate with her social studies curriculum. I chose this book for a few reasons. First, Utah has a very large refugee population. Second, a lot of refugee stories mirror the travels and travails of the Utah pioneers. I found this book in the school’s library. It’s beautiful and contains some incredible artwork by Nizar Ali Badr who still lives in Syria. Lesson Plan coming soon.
